The aim of the Journal is to increase the professional level of specialists in the area of treatment of cardiovascular diseases and the quality of medical care.

The primary purpose of the Journal is to publicize advanced scientific achievements in the area of angiology, vascular surgery, and phlebology.

The scientific concept of the Journal envisages publication of contemporary achievements in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of arterial and venous diseases, as well as the results of Russian and international clinical trials.

Each issue is compiled based on selecting the most important contemporary materials prepared by leading Russian and foreign scientists, to be undoubtedly useful for physicians in their research and clinical practice.  

The Journal covers various problems on the specialty «cardiovascular surgery». Each issue of the Journal is devoted to a particular subject, publishing materials on surgery of brachiocephalic arteries, aorta, lesions of the aortoiliac zone and visceral branches of the aorta, lower-limb arteries, congenital vascular pathology, and venous system diseases. A separate section is devoted to the history of vascular surgery. 

The Editorial Board complies with the principles of the International Organization «Committee on Publication Ethics» (Committee On Publication Ethics – COPE).

The Journal primarily publishes scientific articles dedicated to original studies, problems of pharmacotherapy, and new methods of diagnosis.

To get published in the Journal, we invite both Russian and foreign scientists and physicians engaged in cardiovascular surgery, as well as physicians of other specialties.

The Editorial Board considers for publication the following manuscripts: original articles (results of clinical studies), analytical reviews, and clinical case reports.

According to the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), authors of scientific articles should meet all four of the following criteria for authorship:

• substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work;
• drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content;
• final approval of the version to be published;
• agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Great importance is attached by the Editorial Board to problems of preparing a scientific publication at a high level, increasing literacy of the authors and the level of their possession of contemporary information, as well as availability of the results of scientific research for colleagues not only in Russia but abroad.

The Journal also publishes national guides and clinical recommendations on the specialty «cardiovascular surgery».

Intended readership: angiologists, vascular surgeons, phlebologists, surgeons, cardiologists, therapists, family physicians, and related-specialty physicians.

Current-year issues are available to members of the Russian Society of Angiologists and Vascular Surgeons and by subscription to the Journal ?Angiology and Vascular Surgery?. Previous issues of the Journal can be found in the open-access archive, thus promoting popularization of scientific editions. No part of the published material may be reproduced without the prior permission of the Editorial Board. Reprinting of publications with the permission from the Editorial Board, reference to the Journal ?Angiology and Vascular Surgery? is obligatory

1. It is mandatory to indicate whether the patient or their legal representative has voluntarily agreed to participate in the study.
2. All medical data are published anonymously.
3. For experimental research on animals, it is mandatory to have a protocol that complies with ethical standards and biomedical research principles.
4. The research protocol must be approved by an appropriate ethics committee, which includes the name of the organization, location, protocol number, and date of the meeting.

The Journal's Advertising Policy is based on the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) guidelines on publication ethics policies for medical journals and the law of the Russian Federation "On advertising".

The revenue of the journal comes from advertising and reprints. The editorial board and the editorial staff of the journal exercise independent decision-making power regarding the allocation of budgets for advertising and printing reprints. Functions of the editorial board are separated from those of advertising and marketing specialists within the journal. Advertisers and sponsors cannot influence the editorial board's decisions, regardless of any advertising agreements or other contracts.

Articles reprinted in the journal are published in their original form (including any subsequent corrections), without additions or changes.

The content of special supplemental issues of the journal is regulated solely by the decisions of the editorial board, and the content of these issues is not influenced by any sponsors or advertisers.

The policy regarding the amount of advertising in the journal is clearly outlined and can be found in the guidelines for publication.

The editorial board of the journal has an official policy on advertising that is available to everyone involved in the editing and publishing process.

All advertisements in the journal must clearly identify the advertiser and the product or service they are offering. Advertising must not mislead readers, exaggerate the true characteristics of the product, or contain offensive content regarding religion or race.

The products advertised in the journal are intended for use in medical practice, education, or care. Advertisers are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of information in their advertising materials.

The editorial team reserves the right to reject any advertisement for any reason. Our decision to publish an advertisement is based on the input of our editorial team and the editorial board of the journal.

he Journal is indexed in international scientific and practical databases: PubMed, Scopus, EBSCO, etc. It is also included into the List of leading peer-reviewed journals and editions recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation for publication of the results of dissertations for the acquisition of the degree of Candidate and Doctor of Sciences.
