Chronic type B aortic dissection in a patient with antiphospholipid syndrome (a case report)

Abstract

Type B aortic dissection in a patient with antiphospholipid syndrome is a complicated clinical situation requiring an individual approach to surgical decision-making. Presented herein is a clinical case report concerning treatment of a patient with antiphospholipid syndrome and chronic type B aortic dissection. A hybrid method of surgical treatment was chosen consisting in carotid-subclavian bypass performed as the first stage and thoracic endovascular aortic repair as the second stage. No perioperative complications were encountered.
